Day 12 - Gadhinglaj to Mapusa

Sipping morning tea from the hotel balcony we saw a dog pack away a juicy morsel under a ploughed field, and then check another furrow for a previously stowed snack.

We went out in search of breakfast as well.

The groom and friends:
We soon settled down to a scrumptious thali:

Elaborate mehndi work on bride and groom's hands:

Started for Goa, 150 km away, by late afternoon. My first stop would be Ajra.

The sun sets and the cows come home:

The beautiful Amboli ghats must be crossed in order to reach the coast.:

A pretty little village - a set houses aligned along either side of the road for a hundred metres.

Sawantwadi is a town at the foot of the hills famous for its beautiful lake, Moti Talav.

Fine folks at the Goa border recommended going to Mapusa and taking the right for Calangute.

Reached Goa by night, and met up with Pune buddy Shantanu holidaying with better half. We earned some big bucks at casinos that night and celebrated at the Subway with turkey and ham.
