Day 14 to 15 - Calangute

Lazed around in Calangute for another couple days.
Water was refreshing and monkey-tumbling with the waves helped rinse away residual memories of the Delhi winter left behind.

King's beer came highly recommended by friends, even more so than the local fermented cashew-/coco-nut drink, feni . A bottle @ Rs. 20 is an attractive price and restaurant offers ensure even futher reductions, confirming the old adage about beer being cheaper than water in these parts.

On Miramar beach, a dog proves itself an ingenious timekeeper, employing a sundial above and 'sandclock' below. It shifts rest spots with the sun, following the shadow of the pole to keep to the shade. At the same time, it digs up sand to expose enough cool earth underneath for each pitstop.

The second of the famous Ponda temples, Shri Shantadurga, also has the leaning lamp tower (deepmal) but a pure white this time.
